Develop individuals who support public safety initiatives, community policing programs, and cooperative security efforts.

BADGE POLICY


Badges, credentials, and identification issued by the International Police Academy (UNIPOL) are official academy insignia and remain the property of the Academy at all times.
Recipients must safeguard issued badges and credentials.
• Lost or stolen badges must be reported immediately.
• Replacement badges may be issued only upon administrative approval.
• Replacement badges require payment of additional fees and administrative processing.
• The Academy reserves the right to deny replacement requests in cases of negligence, misuse, or suspected policy violations.

ILLEGAL BADGE USE & MISREPRESENTATION POLICY


Unauthorized use, reproduction, duplication, or display of any UNIPOL badge, credential, insignia, or identification is strictly prohibited. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
• Impersonating a law enforcement officer or government official
• Representing academy credentials as sworn police authority
• Manufacturing, reproducing, or distributing academy badges or identification without authorization
• Using academy insignia for fraud, intimidation, or misrepresentation

Such conduct may constitute violations of federal and state law, including:
• 18 U.S.C. § 912 — Impersonation of a Federal Officer or Employee
• 18 U.S.C. § 701 — Unauthorized Use of Official Badges, Identification Cards, or Insignia
• 18 U.S.C. § 1028 — Fraud and Related Activity in Connection with Identification Documents
• Applicable state laws regarding impersonation of law enforcement officers

Violations may result in:
• Immediate revocation and recall of credentials
• Permanent dismissal from the academy
• Referral to law enforcement authorities for investigation and prosecution

RIGHT OF RECALL &POLICY ACCEPTANCE

The International Police Academy (UNIPOL) retains the unrestricted right to recall, revoke, suspend, or invalidate any badge, credential, certificate, or identification issued by the academy at any time for misuse, misconduct, policy violations, or actions inconsistent with academy standards.
All revoked credentials must be returned immediately upon notice. Failure to return academy property may result in civil recovery actions and legal enforcement.


Enrollment, payment, membership, or participation in any International Police Academy (UNIPOL) program constitutes full acknowledgment and acceptance of this policy. Participants agree to comply with all academy regulations regarding financial policies, credential use, and professional conduct.
